Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 — 6 December 1956), also known as Babasaheb, was an Indian jurist, political leader, Buddhist activist, philosopher, thinker, anthropologist, historian, orator, prolific writer, economist, scholar, editor, revolutionary and a revivalist for Buddhism in India. डॉ. भीमराव रामजी आंबेडकर (१४ एप्रिल, इ.स. १८९१; महू, मध्य प्रदेश – ६ डिसेंबर, इ.स. १९५६; दिल्ली) हे मराठी, भारतीय कायदेतज्ज्ञ व राजकारणी होते. स्वातंत्र्योत्तर काळात भारताची राज्यघटना बनवणार्‍या मसुदासमितीचे ते अध्यक्ष होते. दलितांच्या उद्धारासाठी त्यांनी महत्त्वपूर्ण कामगिरी केली. इ.स. १९९० साली भारतीय शासनाने त्यांना भारतरत्न या भारतातील सर्वोच्च नागरी पुरस्काराने गौरवले. – विकि
